Group Publishing: Incredible Things Won't Happen Here - Creativity Not Welcome

Impersonal "personalized" rejection form letter #1

August 24, 2009 Dear Christopher: Thanks for submitting your proposal for Gardenialand Bible Adventures. Unfortunately, the proposal doesn't fit with our current publishing needs. Please don't let this discourage you. We consider several factors when deciding whether or not to pursue a project. For example, our current line-up may be full, the timing of your project may not fit with our present needs or market, or a similar project may have already been submitted. We appreciate you taking the time to submit your ideas for our consideration. Please keep us in mind as you continue to create new book ideas. We'd love to see your creativity at work! Best wishes as you continue a career in publishing. And thanks for sharing Group's concern for the church! Sincerely, Proposal Review Team Resources for Authors It's not easy finding the right publisher for your manuscripts. Fortunately, most of the help you'll need is as close as your local library. Check out the reference section, magazine section, and the regular book section for any of all of the resources listed below. Each resource contains valuable information to help you connect with the right publisher. • Writer's Market. Novel and Short Story Writer's Market, and Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market each lists hundreds of publishers, along with their addresses, current book needs, and editorial contact names. These books are published annually by The Writer's Digest Book Club, P.O. Box 12948, Cincinnati, OH 45212-0948. • Manuscript Submission, by Scott Edelstein is a must for any writer's library. It offers practical advice and proven strategies in regard to the "business" of writing. This book is available from The Writer's Digest Book Club, P.O. Box 12948, Cincinnati, OH 45212-0948. • The Christian Writer's Market Guide, by Sally E. Stuart is similar to the Writer's Market book put out by Writer's Digest, but focuses entirely on Christian publishers. It's published by Harold Shaw Publishers and is available in Christian bookstores everywhere, or through Sally E. Stuart, 1647 SW Pheasant Dr., Aloha, OR 97006. • Christian Writers Guild. These books are also published by The Writer's Digest Book Club, P.O. It's available through Addison Wesley Longman Publishing Company, Inc. • The Writer, and Writer's Digest are popular magazines for professional writers.
